Zimoun’s sound sculptures and installations are graceful, mechanized
works of playful poetry, their structural simplicity opens like an
industrial bloom to reveal a complex and intricate series of
relationships, an ongoing interplay between the «artificial» and the
«organic».
He's interested in simple and elegant physical systems to generate
complex behaviors and structures in sound and motion. Creating pieces
from basic components he explores the creation and degeneration of
patterns. Often using multiples of the same prepared mechanical elements
his installations activate and transform the space.
«Zimoun is best compared to a watchmaker of a self-reproducing time constructing his own gauging station.» Radjo Monk
