2009 | MP3 | Touch | TouchRadio46 [Field Recording,
Noise,
Ambient]
1/f Noise – While teaching sound art in Cincinnati Ohio's art school
DAAP, Montgomery organized sonic tours of the Ceramics Department. The
audience was blindfolded and led one by one down 8 flights of stairs
into a series of listening stations where ventilators, burning kilns and
other machinery were in use (2008).
Smoothing Out The Press was composed using the Sound of Sanding from
the Crest Hardware Show plus recordings made at Ben Owen's Middle Press
in Brooklyn while printing the Ministry of Lamination’s Almost Blank
Notebook letterpress edition (2007).
Part of the TouchRadio mp3 series, available from touchradio.org.uk
and via the TouchPod iTunes podcast. |

2010 | AIFF / MP3 | PandaFuzz | pf020 [Noise, Experimental]Very happy to present our 20th release from Julia LaDense, entitled
Trip. I first discovered Julia’s work through my good buddy Tyler at
Electric Tapes, he released I Vote Everyday a few months back and I
highly recommend it. From there I discovered a handful of other Julia
releases and you can keep up with them through her via her website.
It
is not just the stark minimalism that first put attention on her music,
it is also the bold attitude presented behind it, that makes it clear
she makes music for the pure enjoyment of it. Much like our last release
from Leonardo Martins, this is a fine example of music without
pretense. |

2009 | FLAC | OFF/BRUMA | offb012 Composed improvisation, in three acts, around the magnificence of the
Man, its origins and its exponential perception.
KHEOSTATIC is an improvised play with a total duration of about three
hours trying in an encyclopaedic way to make a sound transcription of
several elements which constitute the human reality, in its language,
intellectuality and action. In the first part, now published, the human
perception was condensed in sound signs of the avant-garde, concrete and
electroacoustic, through the recourse to an immediate and
proto-metaphysical language, in narrow correlation with the possible
conceptuality of the matter and its relations with the spirit. The three
KHEOSTATIC‘s parts will be live recorded at La Société de Curiosités,
Paris. |
2009 | MP3 | Just
Not Normal | JNN063 [Ambient, Experimental, Vocal Experimentation]Ever since I came in touch with the music of Joe Frawley I was instantly
sold. That first I heard was Ritual Research on Clinical Archives which
was like a potpouri of fushioned styles though an elevated level of
musicianship sounded throughout the entire album. Since that time I’ve
always tried to keep up to date with his works, but timemanagement is
not an easy task. And then there was Angel Boxes; Joe himself wasn’t too
certain how listeners would respond to this what I would call modern
classical opera. But when my ears heard this again I fell in love.
Rachel Rambach is the vocal in here that perhaps not shatter the glass
but her singing sooths and the work Joe adds to this brings out a new
definition of opera-singing. |
2010 | MP3 | Eg0cide
Productions | Eg0_017 [Anarcho-Ambient, Drone, Experimental, Improvisation, Noise]It's been a long time since I asked Watzatnoiz & Kecap Tuyul to
record albums for Eg0cide. Last summer they both send me a chaotic batch
of raw live tracks (bursts of sapsmodic noise & gritty spacey
ambient from Watzatnoiz on VST synth (the Synth1 created by Ichiro
Toda), minimalist psychedelic improvisations and lo-fi underwater drones
by Kecap Tuyul on prepared guitar (with sometimes ebow and looper)) ,
and although I enjoyed their sounds a lot, it was difficult for me to
consider these submissions as finished albums. So these albums projects
were somehow forgotten... But a few weeks ago, after listening again
to these tracks from both guys in a row, I found that a split album
could be a cool idea. Or even a mix of these tracks...That's what
finally happened : after many attemps of building a playlist, "Ignid Kod
N" is served as a single track, since I wanted to avoid silences
between tracks that have been crossfaded to create a weird odissey into
the hasrh side of anarcho-ambient, full of spacey free-noise, dirty
drones, naive psychedelia and dark buzzes - take it or leave it! |
